REP. WALE RAJI BAGS "EPE ICON OF THE YEAR AWARD" AT EPWA 2022 ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING




.......restates commitment to the rejigging of Epe's local economy through women/youth empowerment and provision of infrastructure


The legislator representing Epe Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives and Chairman, House Services Committee was yesterday presented the "Epe Icon of the Year Award" at the Epe-Division Professional Women Association's 2022 Annual General Meeting.


Presenting the award on behalf of the women group, Duke Garbadeen Olabode appreciated Rep. Wale for touching the lives of the people by embarking on impactful projects in different parts of Epe Federal Constituency. He urged the legislator not to rest on his oars.





In his response, Rep. Wale Raji appreciated the women group which comprises of topnotch professionals in the Academia, Judiciary, Public service, Media, Business, etc for the honour. 


He restated his commitment to the rejigging of Epe's local economy through women/youth empowerment and provision of infrastructure which he said has seen him embark on numerous projects ranging from provision of classrooms and furniture to schools, cooperative empowerment, market development, youth training in different vocations, road construction etc. He however called on the women group to ensure they are concerned and involved in bringing on board quality leaders to serve in public offices.


Speaking on behalf of the women, the newly inaugurated President of the group, Mrs Balogun Margaret appreciated the legislator for his consistent support to the group in the past, present and his commitment to do more when the need arises.


The event was also graced by other eminent members of the society including Associate Professor Nosiru Onibon, Odofin Charles Keshinro, Epe Local Government Chairman, Princess Surah Animashaun and a host of others.

Epe, Lagos – May 2025 – Officers of the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps (LNSC), Eredo Command, have arrested three students and one adult in connection with a case of theft and aiding and abetting at the Government Technical College, Odomola, Epe. The arrest followed a distress call from the school’s principal, Dr. Wole Ajifowoke, after some students were caught with pieces of iron on the school premises. The suspects — Sunday Kingsley (17), Sansaliu Babatunde (18), and Olowu Adamo (22), all from the Motor Vehicle Mechanic Department — confessed during interrogation that they had stolen three iron chairs, dismantled them, and intended to sell the metal to local scrap collectors known as "bollar." Suspected Kidnapper Disguised as Lunatic Arrested in Epe.

Operatives of the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps (LNSC), Epe Command, have arrested a suspected kidnapper who had been disguising as a mentally ill person to evade detection. The suspect, identified as Mr. Godwin, a native of Ughelli Local Government Area in Delta State, had been under close surveillance for over a month following intelligence reports and concerns raised by residents. Community members reported that Mr. Godwin often made suspicious late-night phone calls and changed clothes discreetly each morning. He frequently took shelter in an abandoned security building along Lagos Road, near the T-junction. On May 5, during a routine patrol, officers were informed by residents that the suspect was temporarily absent from the area. Acting swiftly, the patrol team searched the structure and discovered 27 registered SIM cards concealed within a section of a block wall.
