SANWO-OLU PRESENT STAFF OF OFFICE TO ADEGBAJO OF ODO-GBAWOJO




….Says that the royal fathers are essential allies of the government.


Yesterday, 4th of November 2022, The Staff of Office and Instrument of Appointment were presented to Oba Muruf Adelani Adeniyi, the Adegbajo of Odo-Gbawojo Kingdom in Eredo Local Council Development Area of the State, by Lagos State Governor Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who was expertly represented by the Special Adviser on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Bolaji Kayode Robert.


In remarks made at the Epe LG Secretariat during the presentation of staff of office and an instrument of appointment to Oba Adeniyi, Governor Sanwo-Olu reaffirmed the commitment of his administration to fulfilling its promise to spread infrastructure throughout all of Lagos State, including Epe Division.



The Governor claimed that because of their functions as supporters of progress, peace, and peaceful cohabitation among all persons and residents within their realm, royal fathers are essential partners for government.


The Lagos State Government, according to him, will keep working with the State's traditional leaders to make sure that their welfare receives the attention it merits.


He said: "I rejoice with Your Royal Majesty as you ascend the stool of your ancestors on behalf of myself, the Government, and the people of Lagos State. Your selection as their leader and steward of their culture and traditions by the Kingmakers and widespread acceptance by your people is a testament to their faith in your ability to improve the fortune of this region and its inhabitants.


"You have a duty to exercise leadership, foster camaraderie, friendship, and a sense of community among the comity of Royal fathers and Chiefs within the Division and at the State level," the letter reads.



The Executive Chiarman of Eredo LCDA, Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye urged Oba Maruf Adelani Adeniyi to put his vast experience to work for the advancement of Odo-Gbawojo, Epe Division, and Lagos State as a whole.


He remarked, "I am really pleased to learn that Your Royal Majesty brings to this highly esteemed stool a rich background of decades of expertise and successes in your professional calling, as well as being a shrewd tutor during your time as a teacher at Gbagada Girls High School, a portion of these accomplishments were documented.


"All of these, I have no doubt, Your Royal Majesty will bring to bear on the development of Odo-Gbawojo, Epe Division and Lagos State as a whole. 


In order for Kabiyesi's reign to be wonderful and bring about unheard-of progress to this ancient and historic kingdom, Akinloye urges all the sons and daughters of Odo-Gbawojo to unite around the new king."

Suspected Kidnapper Disguised as Lunatic Arrested in Epe.

Operatives of the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps (LNSC), Epe Command, have arrested a suspected kidnapper who had been disguising as a mentally ill person to evade detection. The suspect, identified as Mr. Godwin, a native of Ughelli Local Government Area in Delta State, had been under close surveillance for over a month following intelligence reports and concerns raised by residents. Community members reported that Mr. Godwin often made suspicious late-night phone calls and changed clothes discreetly each morning. He frequently took shelter in an abandoned security building along Lagos Road, near the T-junction. On May 5, during a routine patrol, officers were informed by residents that the suspect was temporarily absent from the area.
