The Executive Chairman of Eredo LCDA, Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye, has appealed to all Lagos State residents, especially the electorate to re-elect Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in the forthcoming governorship poll, saying the governor has done so well and deserved to be re-elected.

Akinloye said that there were lots of irregularities during the February 25 presidential election, adding that security would be beefed up to ensure safety during the governorship election.

He, therefore, urged residents of Eredo LCDA to put behind the outcome of the presidential election and come out en masse to vote the All Progressives Congress candidates in the forthcoming gubernatorial polls. He urged Eredo LCDA residents to redeem themselves by voting for a performing government, saying “Lagos has given so much to all of us, let us pay back by showing gratitude to a Governor (Sanwo-Olu) who I believe has done his best.”

The Council boss also appealed to Eredo LCDA residents, especially youths, Ndigbo in the State and religious leaders not to allow ethnicity and religion be a dividing factor in the forthcoming governorship election in Lagos State. "I appeal to my Igbo brothers and sisters, don’t let us make this an ethnic issue. Anywhere in the world where ethnicity has become an issue, it becomes destructive. I will plead that the youth, our religious people, and our Igbo brothers and sisters in Lagos should think of the past", he said.

“Our incumbent governor is the governor of all the people, anointed governor, reliable and responsible, hardworking, a listening governor. We are solidly behind the governor, the present administration up to the federal level.

Let’s forget the past and face the future, because the only thing that we need to do is to appeal to them to forget what anyone did during the past elections mainly because of Governor Sanwo-Olu,” Akinloye said.

He called on the residents of the area to mobilise family members, friends, neighbours and everyone to come out en-masse to vote for the governor on Saturday, 11th 2023.

“Sanwo-Olu needs peace, he wants progress for Eredo LCDA, for Lagos State, the country and the whole world.

There is no place that you don’t have friends, neighbours and colleagues. I am appealing to all my ward leaders to go back home and work out their strategies for everyone of us.

“It is not a matter of fighting; we have to call our neighbours, children, community members and everyone to come out en-masse and vote for Sanwo-Olu.

“If we come out en-masse, we will be able to deliver the community. Let’s make our families available to vote en-masse for Sanwo-Olu. We should come out on time and deliver our votes for Sanwo-Olu’s re-election,” Akinloye said.

With the words, "Lagos has given so much to all of us, let us pay back by demonstrating gratitude to a Governor (Sanwo-Olu) who I feel has done his best," he pleaded with the citizens of Eredo LCDA to atone for their wrongdoing by electing a functioning government.

The head of the council also pleaded with inhabitants of Eredo LCDA, particularly young people, with Ndigbo in the State and with religious figures not to let race and religion be a dividing line in the upcoming governorship election in Lagos State. "I make a plea to my Igbo brothers and sisters: Let's not turn this into an ethnic dispute. Ethnicity is detrimental everywhere in the world where it has become a problem. I'll implores our religious community, young folks, and Igbo siblings in Lagos to look at the future yet to come," he said.

"Our current governor is the governor of all the people; he is anointed; he is a governor who is trustworthy and accountable; he works very hard; and he is a governor who listens. The governor and the current government, all the way up to the federal level, have our full support.

Let's move past the past and into the future because all that has to be done is to urge people to forget what was done during the previous elections, particularly because of Governor Sanwo-Olu," Akinloye remarked.

He urged the locals to mobilize their friends, family, and neighbors, as well as everyone else, to turn out in force on Saturday to vote for the governor.

Sanwo-Olu seeks peace and advancement for Eredo LCDA, Lagos State, the nation, and the entire world.

There is nowhere you can go without running into friends, neighbors, and coworkers. I'm pleading with all the leaders in my ward to return home and plan their approaches for all of us.

"It's not a matter of fighting; we need to mobilize everyone to cast their votes for Sanwo-Olu, including our neighbors, kids, and community members.

"We will be able to deliver the community if we come out in large numbers. Let's mobilize our families to cast a large number of votes for Sanwo-Olu. In order to support Sanwo-Olu's, reelection,  we should cast our ballots promptly, " Akinloye concluded.
