The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has announced the dissolution of his cabinet in preparation for the swearing in ceremony on 29th May, marking the start of second term administration of Sanwo-Olu/Hamzat in the state. Sanwo-Olu’s decision, meanwhile, did not affect government appointees whose tenures were yet to expire as guided by relevant laws of their establishments. Lagos Speakership Race: Abiodun Tobun Declares Intention To Run , Dares Obasa for the Seat.

By: Shakiru Fashina  The Speakership race for the Lagos State House of Assembly has taken a new dimension as Honourable Abiodun Tobun, Epe State Constituency I,  declared his intention to run for the Speakership seat to challenge the incumbent, Rt Hon Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa. Obasa who represents Agege constituency, became the first lawmaker in Lagos State to be elected for six consecutive terms. He first came into the House in 2003 and he has been there till date while he was elected Speaker in 2015. Chef Hilda Effiong Bassey, popularly known as Hilda Baci, has urged people who are seeking to beat her 100-hour record time for the "longest cooking marathon by an individual" to wait until she receives her certificate from Guinness World Record. The chef made this known during an interview on Channels Television’s  ‘Sunrise Daily’ on Tuesday. Baci broke the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual with a 100-hour record time, surpassing the current world record holder, Lata Tondon, an Indian chef who achieved the feat in 2019 with 87 hours 45 minutes record uninterrupted cooking. Veteran Yoruba actor, Prince Adewale Adeyemo, died on Monday morning after a brief illness. The news was announced by fellow actor, Kunle Afod, on his Instagram page. Sharing a picture of the deceased, Afod wrote, "Hmmmm God you know best RIP Prince Adewale Adeyemo. "He passed on early hours of today after a brief illness. Anambra Pregnant Woman Brutalises Seven-year-old Nephew

A 24-year-old pregnant woman, Abigail Eguta, has been arrested in Anambra State for allegedly brutalising her seven-year-old nephew for eating fish and failing to recite the English alphabet.  This was made known in a post shared by the Ministry of Women and Social Welfare Anambra State on Facebook. The woman was apprehended after concerned neighbours took the victim, identified as Sunday, to the office of the state women and social welfare commissioner, Ify Obinabo, on Tuesday, May 16, 2023.  Sunday is said to be the son of Eguta’s biological sister who she brought to live with her barely a year ago.  The boy, whose body is dotted with scars of previous injuries allegedly inflicted on him by his guardian, had been out of school for a long time. guta claimed she beat the boy for eating the fish she bought for Sunday meal.   A 69-year-old man named Babatunde Fabiyi was part of the candidates who wrote the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, with the aim of studying medicine at the University of Lagos, information obtained from the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has revealed. LAGOS APPROVES DEPLOYMENT OF E-CALL UP SYSTEM FOR LEKKI-EPE CORRIDOR

The Lagos State Government has approved the deployment of an e-call up system for the Lekki-Epe Free Trade Zone corridor to avert severe congestion caused by articulated trucks accessing the Port corridor. The State Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. Frederic Oladeinde made this known at a Stakeholders’ Meeting held recently which had in attendance top government functionaries from the Ministry of Transportation, representatives of Lekki Worldwide Investment Limited, Lagos Free Zone, Lekki Deep Sea Port and Messrs.
