TREE PLANTING CAMPAIGN: EREDO LCDA CHAIRMAN HOLDS TREE PLANTING EXERCISE

 





In commemoration of the 2023 Tree Planting Day, the Executive Chairman of Eredo LCDA, Epe, Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye, enjoins residents of the council area to key into the campaign as it is a major factor in combating climate change and eradicating erosion.


Earlier today, the council boss, who was ably represented by the vice chairman, Hon. Adesanya Lateef, in his speech during the exercise held at the RCM Primary School, Mojoda, Epe, Lagos State, urged residents to embrace the habit of tree planting in their respective homes and places of work.



He further emphasized the need to embark on tree planting and stated its advantages. He also advised the residents to ensure they plant a tree not just for the campaign but as a habit.



Mr. Johnson Hamed, the supervisor for Environment, highlighted in his statement that conserving the world is essential to keeping it beautiful for future generations rather than for us. He further asked the locals to protect the trees in order to protect the earth's lungs.



Hon. Adesanya, who took the honor of planting the first tree as part of the day's activity. 

He was followed by the Secretary to the local Government, Mr. Saibu Azeez, as members of the Legislative Arm and Council Excos equally took turns to participate in the tree planting exercise.
