EREDO LCDA DISTRIBUTES 65,000 EXERCISE BOOKS TO 18 PUBLIC SCHOOLS

Epe(Lagos State), Sept. 21, 2023(NAN) Eredo Local Council Development Area in Lagos State, distributed 65,000 exercise books to 18 public primary schools in its third edition of the books distributions within the council area.



Mr Monsuru Akinloye, Chairman of the council disclosed this during an interview with News Agency of Nigeria(NAN), in Eredo, on Thursday.


He said that the gesture was to support the educational materials of the public students and to relieve their parents from the burden of buying books for their wards in this hard economy. 


"I understand there is an economic hardship and some of the avenues to cushion the effect is to support parents to cater for some of their children's needs in schools.



"Educational support is part of our administration priority, so, the distribution of books is not a one-off event, this is the third edition and it is a continuous exercise.


"We gave public students educational materials sometime ago and we are still doing the distribution now and we will continue to do so periodically,  " he said.



According to him, no fewer than 6,000 students benefitted from the book distributions in all the 18 public schools under my council.


"Each student goes home with 8 exercise books. 


"The development will enhance the teaching and learning of the pupils,  " he said.


He mentioned some of the public schools as; U.P.E primary school, Ajengbede, RCM in Ilara, LG school, Igboye, A.U.D school, Ibonwon, Pobo community school, and Poka among several others.


The council chairman said that the initiative marks a significant stride towards ensuring that every child in the council area has access to quality educational materials.


"It is a testament to the council's unwavering commitment to nurturing young minds and fostering a brighter future for the community.


"I know that the development will have a great impact on the education of these young learners, " he said.


Akinloye said that he would not relent efforts in putting smiles on the faces of the people in the council area.


"I will continue to attract government present into the community, provide infrastructure, and extend dividend of democracy to all and sundry, " he said.


One of the beneficiary, Gbemimade Michael, student of RCM primary school, Odomola, applauded the council chairman for his kind gestures.


Another beneficiary, Rebecca Ogebule, pupil of AUD primary school, Odo-Egiri, said that the exercise books would go a long way in fostering their learning aid.
