Sanwo-Olu Appoints Giwa Moore SSA On Technical And Vocational Education Board

 


Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu has appointed Comrade Giwa Moore as his new Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Technical  And Vocational Education Board (LASTVEB), as a result of Mr Governor desire to upskill and integrate young people into the labour market and for self – employment by providing high-quality technical skills. 


Giwa Moore is a youth and students leader with great records of achievements in advocacy, empowerment and mobilization, he has vehemently contributed to national struggles of common interest. He is known for his active involvement in leadership and community service.

The new Senior Special Assistant will support Governor Sanwo-Olu’s vision to stimulate and encourage technical and vocational education not only as a basis for creating early technical awareness, but also to provide suitable orientation for further learning, entrepreneurship and create job opportunities.

With his extensive network, Moore has been facilitating greater support and initiatives for students and youths, thereby opening up the state to invaluable skills and resources that will enable it confront its development challenges more effectively. 

For his numerous positive and exemplary endeavours, Moore has received many recognitions and awards. In 2017, He was the recipient of the Most Outstanding Student Award, Faculty of Social Science and was also the Best Graduating Student of the Department of Political Science, University of Abuja. On 14th December 2022, he was awarded as the Epe Division Youth Influencer Of The Year.

Moore is a graduate of the University of Abuja, Nigeria where he bagged a degree in Political Science. He also attended the Nigeria Institute Of Journalism, for his Post Graduate Diploma in Public Relations And Advertising. He is presently writing his thesis for his Master’s Degree in Public Policy Analysis in University of Abuja.

Recall that the Lagos State Technical and Vocational Education Board has the responsibility of overseeing the five technical colleges and other vocational centers spread over all the local government areas in the state.

Apart from managing and monitoring of the Technical Colleges that fall within the Formal Education setting, the board is also striving to formalize the informal sector. It has been assisting in the training and development of Artisans and Craftsmen that form the bulk of operators in the Informal sector.
