………A New Dawn for Every Child’s Identity
Yesterday, 29th August, marked a monumental step forward for Nigeria’s future as Barr. (Mrs.) Saidat Olayinka Oladunjoye, the Lagos State Federal Commissioner at the National Population Census, proudly stood alongside Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the wife of the Vice President, Hajia Nana Shettima, Hon. Minister of Women Affairs, Barrister (Mrs) Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, and all First Ladies of various states at the State House Banquet Hall, Presidential Villa, Abuja. Together, they launched the Renewed Hope Initiative Project, a groundbreaking effort to accelerate digital birth registration across Nigeria.

This initiative is not just a project; it is a beacon of hope for every Nigerian child. As Barr. Oladunjoye passionately emphasized, "A child not registered does not have an identity and remains invisible in the system." The digital birth registration initiative is a transformative step towards ensuring that every child is seen, recognized, and given the identity they deserve from the moment they are born. Mrs. Oladunjoye urges all parents, guardians, Obas, Chiefs, Local Governments, and community leaders to join in the advocacy, ensuring that no child is left behind.
We urge all parents and guardians to take this vital step today—register your child and collect their digital certificate. By doing so, you are not only securing their identity but also paving the way for a brighter, more secure future for our nation.
This initiative, under the leadership of our esteemed First Lady and supported by dedicated leaders like Barr. Oladunjoye, is a testament to our commitment to the well-being and future of every Nigerian child. Let us all join hands to ensure that no child is left behind.
