LAGOS CSC BRIEFS ASSCSN EXECUTIVES ON YEAR 2025 PROMOTION EXERCISE



As part of preparation towards the successful Year 2025 Promotion Exercise, the Lagos State Civil Service Commission (CSC), recently held a stakeholder meeting with the Executive Members of the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASSCSN).


Addressing the Union Executive Members, the Permanent Secretary, CSC, Mr. Akinbode Obadina, noted that the essence of the meeting was to engage and update the Association on the Commission’s plans and arrangement for the commencement of Year 2025 Promotion Exercise.


Obadina informed that as part of a strategy towards the actualization of the alignment of 1st January Notional and Financial dates for eligible and successful officers in the Year 2025 Promotion Exercise, the Commission would be kick-starting the Promotion Exercise early in January, 2025.


He recalled that the Commission’s efforts in ensuring that Officers who participated in the Year 2024 Promotion Exercise got the 1st January Notional date and 1st April as their Financial date was in partial fulfilment of a long-stated goal which was to align the 1st January Notational date with the Financials and assured that the Commission is resolved to achieve the set target in Year 2025.


In his remarks, the Director, Career Management Directorate, Mr. Kehinde Yusuf corroborating the Permanent Secretary, disclosed that the Commission is set to surpass its previous record of Year 2024 and as a result has commenced the preliminary exercise for the promotion.


He revealed that the issuance of the Call Circular for the Promotion Exercise on 15 November, 2024 was the first signal to all eligible officers, stressing that the deadline for the submission of the eligibility list is 13th December, 2024.


Yusuf urged the Union Executive to help enlighten its members on the new development, emphasising that eligible officers for the Year 2025 Promotion Exercise should avoid traveling or going on leave in January and February during the year.


He disclosed that the designated venues for the Year 2025 Promotion Exercise include: the Adeyemi-Bero Auditorium, Folarin Coker Conference Room of the Staff Clinic, Women Development Centre, State Treasury Office Conference Room, Public Service Staff Development Centre (PSSDC) as well as the Conference rooms of selected MDAs for some professional cadre.


In his response, the Chairman, Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria, Lagos State Comrade Olusegun Balogun, commended the Commission for the great effort in achieving the 1st January Notional and 1st April Financial date and prayed to God for the actualization of the new goal.


He further pledged the support and collaboration of the Association in sensitising its members on the Promotion Exercise, stressing that the Union values the relationship with the Commission.
