National Honours: Nigerians react over Teni’s attitude to Buhari

Nigerian musician, Teniola Apata popularly known as Teni has stirred reactions over her ‘disrespectful’ body language towards President Muhammadu Buhari during the National Honours Award Investiture ceremony on Tuesday.

Buhari conferred national honours of different categories on 447 Nigerians and foreigners at the International Conference Centre (ICC), Abuja.

Teni after receiving the plaque for the award of Member of the Order of the Niger (MON) from the President walked away without paying any obeisance in a manner presumed by some Nigerians as rude.

A former presidential aspirant, Adamu Garba, while reacting to Teni’s action said whoever disrespects the office of the President is an illegitimate and ungrateful Nigerian.


Teni’s action has been greeted with reactions on social media as Nigerians are divided in supporting and opposing the entertainer.
