BENEFICIARIES OF REP. WALE RAJI'S ELDERS WELFARE SCHEME GET DECEMBER 2022 STIPEND

The 140 beneficiaries of Rep. Wale Raji's Elders Welfare Scheme tagged "Owo Arugbo" in different parts of Epe Federal Constituency have so far received their monthly 10,000 stipend for December 2022. Senior Legislative Aide to Rep. Wale Raji on General Administration, Mr Bashiru Hassan said the scheme which is now in it's 26th month is one of the numerous signature projects of the Legislator representing Epe Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives and Chairman, House Services Committee, Rep. LASG SELECTS CCECC-CRCCIG CONSORTIUM AS PREFERRED BIDDER FOR FOURTH MAINLAND BRIDGE PROJECT

The Lagos State Government, through the Office of Public Private Partnerships, today announced Messrs CCECC-CRCCIG CONSORTIUM as the preferred bidder for the proposed Fourth Mainland Bridge project, Special Adviser to the Governor on Public Private Partnerships, Mr. Ope George, who disclosed this during a briefing at the PPP Office in Ikeja, said the Fourth Mainland Bridge (4MB) Project, which is a proposed Public Private Partnership (PPP) transport infrastructure development, will comprise of the construction and operation of a greenfield tolled road and bridge with a design speed of 120km/h, including the development of adjacent real estates.   He added that the Bridge, when completed, would become the second longest in Africa with three toll plazas, nine interchanges, a 4.5km Lagoon Bridge and an eco-friendly environment. It is also expected to span about 37kilometres, starting from Abraham Adesanya in Ajah, on the Eti-Osa-Lekki-Epe corridor and traverse the North West towards the L

Pele: Brazil football legend dies aged 82

  Pele celebrates winning the 1970 World Cup Brazilian football legend Pele, arguably the greatest player ever, has died at the age of 82. He is credited with scoring a world record 1,281 goals in 1,363 appearances during a 21-year career, including 77 goals in 92 matches for his country. The only player to win the World Cup three times, lifting the trophy in 1958, 1962 and 1970, Pele was named Fifa's Player of the Century in 2000. He had been suffering with  kidney and prostate problems  in recent years. Pele had surgery to  remove a tumour from his colon in September 2021  at the Albert Einstein Hospital in Sao Paulo, after the tumour was detected in routine tests. He was readmitted to hospital in late November 2022. His daughter Kely Nascimento has kept fans updated on her father's condition with regular social media updates from hospital. EREDO LCDA CELEBRATES ANNUAL KIDDIES FUNFAIR

In order to participate in the celebration of Christmas and New Year's, hundreds of children and their parents and guardians filled the Eredo Local Council Development Area secretariat. For an event that was scheduled to start at 10:00 am, the venue started welcoming the hundreds of august guests as early as 7:00 am. The event was conducted on December 21st at the council premises and invited participation from party members, political leaders, APC Apex Women, executives, and the LCDA's legislative branch. The explanation wasn't too improbable given that Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye's visionary administration had provided food, cash gifts, and gift baskets for the LCDA's adorable young people. The one-day free Medical Outreach organized by Eredo LCDA facilitated by Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye, Chairman Eredo LCDA, as expected, witnessed large turn out of residents at the council secretariat.   - Obasa commends colleagues for their sacrifice The Lagos State House of Assembly on Monday passed a total of ₦1,768,014,155,285 as the budget for 2023 with the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, thanking the lawmakers for their collective sacrifice and the swiftness with which the Appropriation Bill was handled. A breakdown of the approved budget size shows the sum of N748,096,508,571 as Recurrent expenditure and N1,019,917,646,713 as Capital expenditure for the year ending 31st December, 2023. A part of the breakdown for the sectoral allocations also shows that N3,228,396,960 was approved as the new Overhead Cost of the Office of Civic Engagement for drug abuse advocacy. The sum of N802,987,206 was approved as the new Capital Expenditure of the Ministry of Economic Planning & Budget while N1,200,000,000 was approved as the new Overhead Cost (Social Intervention and Humanitarian Programme) in the Ministry of Economic Planning and Budget.
