WOMEN EMPOWERMENT: EPE, EREDO, IKOSI-EJIRIN COUNCILS TAKE BOLD STEPS

The two levels of government - state and local in Lagos state are leaving no stone unturned to see to the grassroots development and developmental activities which will make the masses happy. 

Today, Thursday 30th, 2023, the council chairman of Epe Local Government Princess (Hon) Surah Animashaun with the chairpersons of Ikosi-Ejirin and Eredo LCDAs, Hon (Mrs) Sijuade Akanke Anomo and Hon (Mrs) Christiana Oyinloluwa Ismail respectively, hosted the Lagos State Council Chairmen's Wives Association (LASCCWA) at the Epe Local Government Council Chamber.

The event which was used as an avenue to empower women in the Epe Local Government Area of Lagos saw the presence of the wives of the council helsmen as well as the Executive Chairmen in the state.

According to the chairperson of Ikosi Ejirin, Mrs. Sijuade Anomo, the women empowerment programme is in support of the administrations of the council chairman across the state, adding that there is need to give back to the electorates who took their times to vote their husbands.

The council chairman of the Epe Local Government, Princess Surah Animashaun in her speech commended the frantic efforts of the chairpersons for giving the best to people.

She said, "As a woman I have no regrets in associating with you as you have all added values to the LGs/LDCAs administrations in the state.

"I want to use this medium to commend the chairpersons of Eredo and Ikosi-Ejirin LCDAs, Mrs. Ismail Oyinloluwa and Mrs. Sijuade Anomo for their frantic efforts in making today's programme a huge success. 

"Kudos also goes to Hon. Anomo and Hon. Akinloye for their relentless efforts in putting smiles into the faces of the masses”.

In his reaction, the chairnan Ikosi Ejirin, Hon. Wale-Raji Anomo applauded the efforts of the chairpersons for adding values to their administrations adding that they should keep the good work rolling

In his comment, Eredo Council Boss, Hon. Ismail Akinloye said the chairpersons have made them proud in all ramifications adding that good work should continued 

According to the president LASCCWA, she appreciated the gestures of the three chairmen of Epe, Eredo and Ikosi-Ejirin for their support for the progress of the women folk.

She said;

“My sincere appreciation goes to the host chairmen for accepting us here. More importantly, the wives of the Executive Chairmen of Eredo and Ikosi-Ejirin LCDAs. They have sincerely supported us immensely and we pray the Almighty to bless them the more”

“This efforts of theirs are aimed at supporting the administrations of their husbands”.

In an interviews with newsmen, Hon. Anomo, the Executive Chairman of the Ikosi-Ejirin LCDA thanked the group for choosing Epe to host their meeting.

He said;

“We all know that the yuletide is near and our women need our support. Hence, these materials and utensils to make them happy”.

Hon. Akinloye Ismail reacted that;

“I give thanks to Allaah for making today a success. Our wives are our pride. We all have to support them most particularly this festive season. My kudos also goes to the president of LASCCWA for her brilliant initiatives towards the development of the association and the women folk in the state”.

The Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government, Hon Surah Animashaun said;

“We are happy to see that our husbands have our interests at hearts. My brothers, Hon. Anomo and Hon. Akinloye are wonderful partners and friends. Their supports are in no small measure to make today’s programme successful”.

The wife of the Ikosi-Ejirin council boss, Mrs. Sijuade Anomo thanked their husbands for making the programme a success. 

She expressed her gratitude to the Executive Chairman of the Epe Local Government who is a woman for hosting the association. 

She advised the beneficiaries to use the materials given to them judiciously and for the benefit of their children and husbands.

Mrs. Oyinloluwa Ismail, the wife of the Executive Chairman of Eredo LCDA said that she sincerely appreciate the support of her husband and all husbands of the wives of Executive Chairmen in Lagos state.

She said;

“My happiness goes beyond the imagination of individuals here today. I really appreciate our husbands for their unflinching support for our wellbeing at all times”.

“We pray for their happiness in life and for peace to continue to reign supreme in our homes”

The beneficiaries thanked the organisers for the support and materials given to them for their use and their households.

Meanwhile, working tools which worth millions of naira such as grinding machines, popcorn frying machines with gas cylinders, tailoring machines, 6KGs of gas cylinders as well as food items were disbursed to the beneficiaries.
