The Executive Chairman of Eredo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye, has described the council’s 2024 budget as one of inclusive development and good governance.

The purpose of the budget retreat, according to Akinloye, is to start regular planning for the fiscal year 2024 while stepping up practical measures to strengthen the council's income production drive.

The Chairman reiterated that all hands must be on deck in order to accomplish the budget's goal of achieving more significant developmental continuity in the LCDA as accomplished in the previous year.

The council boss also revealed that over the years, her administration has continued to record greater strides in the areas of infrastructural development, empowerment, health and environment, youth engagement, education, and staff welfare, among others. While imploring the participants to be more committed towards taking decisive steps towards improving the internally generated revenue (IGR) and economic fortunes of the LCDA.

Over time, the Chairman disclosed that her government has made significant progress in a number of areas, including staff welfare, education, youth involvement, health and the environment, empowerment, and infrastructure development. Even as they beseech the attendees to devote themselves more to making the kind of decisions that will improve the LCDA's fiscal situation and internally generated revenue (IGR),.

"We have successfully lifted Eredo LCDA to an enviable status among its peers across the country with the help of Almighty God and your unwavering determination to implement core policies as displayed a few months into this new dispensation," Akinloye stated. This is demonstrated by the Council's recent win of the Lagos State Ministry of Environment and Water Resources' "Cleanest Local Government in Lagos State (Sub-Urban Category) Award." We also received a commendation letter from the Lagos State government as one of the best local governments.

This is really amazing. I sincerely appreciate your support.

The council boss then charged revenue officials to be more active and productive, as well as maximise the council's income. Saying that several viable projects will be done to ensure maximum delivery of the dividends of democracy as the administration continues.

The Council Head of the Budget Department, Mr. Bolaji Bello, stated that the budget retreat allows for improved budget preparation and analysis for this year in order to guarantee efficient government budget maximisation. "As the LCDA continues to develop, the department's goal is to achieve the best," he stated.

The executives and management team of Eredo LCDA were earlier commended by the procurement retreat facilitators, Dr. Abdulkareem Onakoya and Mr. Muyiwa Okesanya, for demonstrating leadership among peers in early planning and the adoption of effective developmental strategies.

In a similar spirit, the budget facilitators warned the revenue officials to exercise diligence, emphasising that their earned revenue serves as the engine for the sustainability of the public economy.

Budget forecasts were discussed and emphasised; revenue generation comparisons were also made; and new goals were established in response to performance and expectations.
