This vibrant and colorful event not only revived and celebrated our rich traditions but also laid the groundwork for an enduring annual festival that continues to unite and inspire our community. Revitalizing Cultural Practices   The inaugural Ojude Oba was a spectacular showcase of the diverse cultural practices of Odo-Egiri. Traditional dances, music, and ceremonies, which had been handed down through generations, were brought to life in a grand display. The festival featured age-old regberegbe performances, each group adorned in distinct and colorful attire, performing dances and rituals that highlighted their unique histories and contributions to the kingdom. LAGOS COMMISSIONER, OGUNLENDE SECURES NFL RECRUITMENT FOR LAGOS YOUTHS, OTHERS

In January 2024, Hon. Mobolaji Ogunlende, Lagos State Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, received an American NFL contingent to Lagos State and showcased the state’s sports facilities through a strategic tour. This visit laid the foundation for a collaborative effort to enhance the prospects of young athletes in Lagos. On Monday 17th June 2024, the Commissioner announced via his social media handles that over 5 intense days, the NFL team has conducted an extensive recruitment process, identifying and selecting talented players from Lagos and twelve other countries across Africa. The recruitment draft has now been finalised, with eight players selected, two from Lagos and six from other African countries.  Yesterday, Tuesday 18th June 2024, Hon. Ogunlende presented the NFL contingent to Mr Governor at the state house in Marina. By partnering with the NFL, the state aims to provide its youth with platforms to showcase their talents and secure opportunities on a global stage.

EREDO LCDA BOSS, PROMISES MORE DEVELOPMENT IN THE COMING MONTHS

RESOLUTIONS REACHED AT THE MEETING BETWEEN THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AND THE ORGANISED LABOUR HELD ON MONDAY 3RD JUNE, 2024

Further to the negotiation by the Tripartite Committee on National Minimum Wage (NMW) and subsequent withdrawal of Labour from negotiation, the Leadership of the National Assembly intervened on 2nd June, 2024. The Organised Labour declared nationwide strike on Monday, 3rd June, 2024 to drive home its demands. 2. The Federal Government, in the National interest, convened a meeting with Labour held in the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, on Monday 3rd June, with a view to ending the strike action. 3. After exhaustive deliberation and engagement by both parties, the following resolutions were reached: 1. The President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria is committed to a National Minimum Wage that is higher than N60,000; II.
