  Ruling party clinches 20 of the 24 Reps seats Candidates of All Progressives Congress (APC) have been declared the winners of the three senatorial seats in Lagos State, recording landslide victories across the National Assembly slots. Former Deputy Governor, Dr. Idiat Adebule, won the Lagos West senatorial election, polling 361,296 votes to defeat her main challenger of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Segun Adewale, who scored 248,653 votes. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Lagos West Senatorial District Collation Officer, Prof Solomon Akinboye, expressed satisfaction in the conduct of the election INEC also returned Senator Tokunbo Abiru as winner of Lagos East senatorial election.  The INEC Returning Officer for the election, Prof. Simeon Adebayo Oladipo, who declared the results in Somolu, said Abiru polled 178,646 votes to defeat the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Akodada Nicholas Adekunle, who garnered 80,249 votes. The council leader issued a warning against false information being spread on social media during an early-morning press conference in his office on Sunday, February 26, 2023, after visiting certain collation centers in Eredo LCDA. The council boss urged residents of the Eredo LCDA to maintain their composure and wait for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to officially announce the results. Our reporter gathered that soldiers stormed the community sometime in September 2022 and started notifying residents of their intention to demolish property in the Lenuwa, Ayeni and Adeyoruwa areas. The soldiers were said to have arrested no fewer than 10 persons, who were reportedly subjected to different forms of torture.
