A building located within the premises of Ile Oodua Palace of Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has been razed down by fire, destroying valuables. According to a source around Enuwa, in the Ile-Ife area of Osun State, where the palace is located, the incident happened around 11:30 pm on Friday. A statement by the monarch's spokesperson, Moses Olafare, obtained in Osogbo on Saturday, said there was no casualty or loss of cultural item or injury recorded in the inferno, blaming the incident on power surge. The House Committee on Health visited Eredo LCDA and the Primary Healthcare Centers as part of the Lagos State House of Assembly's oversight role, accompanied by the Council's chairman, Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye. The council chairman, who welcomed the House Committee on Health led by Hon. Femi Saheed, organized a tour of all the local primary health care facilities, including Eredo PHC, Mojoda PHC, Poka PHC, Odomola PHC, and Iraye PHC (facilitated by Rep. Wale Raji), amongst others. The Chairman reaffirmed his unfeigned commitment to always see to it that the local government meets the needs of all PHCs as necessary. Nigerian film maker, Tunde Kelani has announced that he is set to release the second part of his movie, Saworoide. He made this known on his Instagram page on Thursday. Kelani wrote, "When there is a cultural vacuum, moral and mental decay follows. SAWOROIDE 2 ( New movie) COMING SOON!" Saworoide is a classic Nigerian film that was released in 1999.  The movie tells the story of a small town called Jogbo, which is ruled by a powerful and corrupt king. The film explores themes of power, corruption, and the struggle for justice in a society where the voices of the people are often silenced. It featured stars like,Kola Oyewo, Bukky Wright, Lere Paimo, Larinde Akinleye, Peter Fatomilola, Kunle Bamtefa, Adebayo Faleti, Kayode Olaiya and Doyin Hassan. Eredo Local Council Development Area bags the first position at the year 2023 Cleanest Local Government Award, organized by the Lagos State Ministry of Environment and Water Resources.  The council boss, Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye, while expressing his satisfaction with the historic award, appreciated the department of environment, led by the supervisor for environment, Mr. Johnson Hamed, and the HOD for environment, Sanitarian Modojemu Victoria, for jobs well done.  The supervisor for environment, Mr Johnson Hamed, during the occasion appreciated the Lagos State government for counting the LCDA worthy of the award and promised that his team and himself would put more effort towards the environmental development of the LCDA. The relationship between the Executive and Legislative Arms of Eredo LCDA just got stronger as the Executive Chairman, Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye, presented official vehicles to the Vice Chairmen and Five Honourable Members of the House today, Monday, April 3, 2023. While presenting the vehicles, the Executive Chairman acknowledged the cordial relationship between the Executive and the Legislative Arm. He said the welfare of the Vice Chairman and Councilors was paramount to him and that he would continue to support them with tools that would enable them to perform effectively.  Ikorodu Teachers’ Lounge Launched Over 100 teachers in public and private schools across Lagos East Senatorial District, who enrolled for the 2022 Class of the Lagos East Teachers Fellowship (Cohort 2) at the Senator Abiru Innovation Lab(SAIL), graduated on Friday after successfully completing their training that lasted for over three months.
