Lagos Chairmen, lawmakers task Muslim clerics on religious tolerance, peaceful coexistence

Tolerance By Idris Olukoya Epe(Lagos State), Sept. 27, 2023(NAN) Local government chairmen and Lagos lawmakers in Epe Divisional Area of Lagos state, have felicitated with the Muslim faithful as they mark the Eid-el-Maulud celebration. They expressed their delight in separate interviews with the News Agency of Nigeria(NAN) in Epe, on Wednesday.  They urged the Muslim clerics to promote, peaceful atmosphere,  religious tolerance and coexist peacefully. Ms Surah Animashaun, Chairman Epe local government, urged the Muslim clerics to learn how to tolerate one another and create a room for peaceful coexistence among themselves and with other religious faithful. She advised the Muslim faithful to imbibe the preaching of the prophet Mohammed(S.A.W) to guide their lives. LCDA Boss Invests In Staff Health And Welfare To Boost Workers Productivity

Health  By Idris Olukoya Epe (Lagos State), Sept. 26, 2023 (NAN), Mr. Monsuru Akinloye, Chairman, Eredo local council development area, in Lagos State, has invested hugely in the health of his staff to boost workers productivity. Akinloye disclosed this while addressing newsmen in Eredo-Epe on Tuesday. He said that the development became necessary because most workers don't know their health status, thereby resulting in low worker productivity and performance. "Investing in workers health will boost working productivity, increase performance, and give them a healthier lifestyle and sense of belonging," he said. According to him, the council partnered with Greenworld Organic Products to do a comprehensive medical checkup for 50 staff and also bought organic products worth millions to combat any forms of illness in the staff body. Mr Monsuru Akinloye, Chairman of the council disclosed this during an interview with News Agency of Nigeria(NAN), in Eredo, on Thursday. He said that the gesture was to support the educational materials of the public students and to relieve their parents from the burden of buying books for their wards in this hard economy.  "I understand there is an economic hardship and some of the avenues to cushion the effect is to support parents to cater for some of their children's needs in schools. The Lagos State House of Assembly will on Tuesday commence the screening of a second batch of nominees sent to by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. The Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, urged the screening committee led by Hon. Fatai Mojeed to ensure a thorough screening process and report to the House on Thursday.
